DIVISION OF TRAINING
The Division of Training is dedicated to preparing Fire & Rescue personnel for all the challenges faced by today’s fire & rescue personnel. Scheduled training is conducted on Monday nights at 6:30 pm. Topics include firefighting operations, rescue operations, vehicle extrication, water rescue, ice rescue, high angle and confined space rescue, removal of persons from stuck elevators. Fire & Rescue personnel use every opportunity to conduct training. Every day and every call is a training. The Officers conduct a briefing after every call to make sure everyone knew what to do or would know how to handle the situation in the future. The Division of training sends members to formal schools such as the NH State Fire Academy to become Pro Board certified firefighters. Officers and members have traveled out of state to attend specialized training not available in NH. Out of State instructors have also been hired in to teach Peterborough personnel.
